What will you be doing?
Our board of trustees have a mix of life and professional skills, each with their own specialist area. The current Chair of Trustees is in their third term and the Treasurer is in their first term. We would like to hear from any potential candidate, who holds the same values we hold on animal welfare. Our charity has undergone a significant change within the last two years with the appointment of a full time Head of Charity. As part of our two year strategy to professionalise, the outcome of this has allowed trustees to focus on the strategic governance of the charity, whilst delegating the day to day operation to the Head of Charity. One piece of learning from this appointment is the need to ensure we have trustees with the correct skill set who are able and willing to direct activity within their field.
What are we looking for?
The majority of our income comes from our three charity shops. These are operated by a blend of paid staff and volunteers. To support this area of the charity, we are looking for trustees who can help improve our financial position by implementing income generation strategies, and cost efficiency savings. We would also interested in a trustee with an education background who can lead on our educational work, which is delivered by volunteers.
What difference will you make?
We make a difference to animals by rehabilitating and rehoming as well as helping people by providing support which encourages responsible pet ownership. As a trustee you will be making decisions and implementing strategies which directly impacts on our charitable objects by supporting animals and their owners. We are an ambitious board of trustees, who are intent on creating a lasting memory of our time with the charity by ensuring all decisions made are done to benefit the charity for today, tomorrow and in the future.
