What will you be doing?
Spencer Lynx was awarded England Hockey Diversity & Inclusion Champion of the Year 2023. We would like to build on this to reach more under-served children through sport, including through potential collaborations with other sporting and community bodies. PR, press and marketing are key to this, and central to our ongoing fundraising. Having recently been awarded funding by Go!London, we are looking to develop the organisational structure of our charity, and for volunteers with the key skills we need to do this. You will work with two of the Trustees, one responsible for overall development of the charity, and the other responsible for communications and social media. We see this as an ongoing role, and are flexible as to its precise boundaries - this is not our field, and this is why we need help! It is an exciting time for Spencer Lynx, and we are looking for imaginative and energetic volunteers to help us grow. We envisage the role involving, but not limited to:
writing press releases seeking opportunities in other media to promote our work engaging with social media Lead producing at least 2 newsletters for Supporters annually consider how we engage with community, hockey community, sports community, diversity providers, potential collaborators maintaining images library

What difference will you make?
Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our community, stakeholders, funders, potential staff and the general public, and will be critical to our fundraising activities and achieving sustainability of our charity. We are currently active on social media, but are conscious that this is within our local hockey community. We need to create a broader following, generally, and raise our profile, while at the same time being sensitive to our target audience/members - we do not want to cast them as victims. We need help from you to do this.
