Founded in 1936, Wellcome is a politically and financially independent global charitable foundation, dedicated to supporting research to improve health, based in London, UK. It funds its work with the returns from an investment portfolio, which is managed in-house and currently stands at £37bn.

The role: As the Chief Strategy Officer, you will report directly into the CEO and be a member of the Executive Committee. Your main responsibilities will include leading the development and delivery of Wellcome's strategy, identifying objectives based on strategic analysis, external insight, and driving measurable impact. This role requires aligning our activity across strategic programmes and departments to deliver our mission. You will shape, evolve, and monitor Wellcome's strategy through effective partnership with the wider Executive Committee to ensure that Wellcome's portfolio of programmes are consistent, coherent and positioned to maximise our impact in science and health.

Job requirements: The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong ability to lead strategic initiatives and have a proven track record in a similar role. Experience in health, science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
