The St Sampson Centre is a charity that is cared for by the trustees. Because it is good practice for trustees to serve for about three years, the Centre is looking for new trustees to replace those who stand down at the end of their term.

What Qualifications Must a Trustee Have?Formal qualifications are not required and no one trustee has to have all the skills and abilities needed but it is hoped that as a team there will be enough of the abilities required. A trustee must be willing to undergo training, be trustworthy and not have any personal history that, if it were to become known, could bring reputational damage to the charity. Our Trustees will be local to York so that they are able to use their local knowledge to support the organisation.Special SkillsThough no one trustee has to have all the skills and abilities needed we always need some who can read and understand contracts, lease documents, etc? We also need those who can understand and are comfortable with finances.
