What will you be doing?
Donnington Doorstep is an independent, community-based family centre delivering a range of universal and specialist services. Set up in 1984 by local parents who knew that caring for children can be hard - we’re a home from home drop-in for children, young people and their families as well as a hub for local community activity. From our purpose-built centre in East Oxford our activities focus on play, food, support and community development. We aim to increase happiness and emotional wellbeing for local children, young people and their families, and to support good mental and physical health. We want to improve life chances for the socially excluded children and young people we work with, and to enable them to realise their full potential. Through this we will see a stronger, safer and more integrated community in our surrounding areas. We are looking to expand the range of expertise within our Board of Directors, particularly focusing on skills or experience in Early Years, Youth Work, Finance, and HR. We would especially welcome applications from users or former users of Donnington Doorstep.
What are we looking for?
We are particularly keen to recruit members of the local community in Oxfordshire who have one or more of the following skills:
Experience of Early Years Development or Youth Work. This may be in Youth Justice, Children & Families Services or Education. Expertise in Finance and/or Fundraising. This may be in banking, accountancy or pensions. Experience of Human Resources and related legislation maybe with some CIPD accreditation
We would especially welcome applications from users or former users of Donnington Doorstep.
What difference will you make?
The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of Donnington Doorstep and guides and supports the Charity Director and her staff towards achieving our aims.
