What will you be doing?

It is a crucial role steering this wonderful charity from strength to strength as it supports complex medical needs children and their families across the UK. In August 2022 we welcomed our new CEO Matt James, 2023/24 will see us focusing on developing and delivering a new 3-year strategy and the board of Trustees will be instrumental in embedding this throughout the Charity. As we continue to drive the charity forward, we are now looking to bring in a new Trustee with experience of working as a senior charity leader and fundraiser, ideally at a national level. The right candidate will require a skill-set to include professional charity knowledge, notably in major donor, legacy, corporate and individual fundraising and you will have sound understanding and experience of charity fundraising at strategic and operational levels

What are we looking for?

To have a substantial background as a senior charity fundraiser, ideally at a national level with experience of charity fundraising at both strategic and operational level Knowledge of the UK charity fundraising sector including ‘best practice’ Professional charity knowledge, notably in major donor, legacy, corporate and individual fundraising Strategic planning skills Data analysis skills Proactively involved in WellChild’s fundraising activities Experience of chairing meetings and/or events An understanding of developing partnerships and building relationships with other organisations A proven track record of sound judgement and effective decision making Exhibit strong inter-personal and relationship building abilities Demonstrate tact and diplomacy, with the ability to listen and engage effectively An ability to understand complex strategic issues, critically assess, analyse and resolve difficult problem

What difference will you make?

The role of a fundraising trustee is to oversee organisational fundraising and ensure it is carried out in legal, best practice, transparent and accountable ways.
