The tasks of a vice chairperson will be to deputising for the chair, being a charity trustee,  assist in developing and supporting the UMT,  assist with compliance and attend regular UMT meetings.

What will you be doing?

Worcester Sea Cadets is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated  vice chairperson to join its Unit Management Team (UMT).  We are a long-established Sea Cadet unit that has provided life-changing opportunities for many young people. We currently have 45 cadets who come from all over the area. The charity is currently looking for volunteers that can support with the management of the unit. There are free training courses available for you to develop new skills, boost your CV and support you in this role About the role: Sea Cadet units are managed and run by volunteers. The UMT are responsible for the running of the unit at a strategic and management level. The primary purpose of  the Vice Chairperson is to support the Unit chair to manage a safe, successful and sustainable Sea Cadet unit, this includes insurance, compliance, fundraising, utilities, the unit minibus, governance and resources/equipment. Our Unit Management Team meet for approx.1-2 hours on a monthly/bi-monthly basis on a weekday evening.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for new Vice Chairperson who have:

A passion for making a difference to young people and the local community Good communication skills An ability to work well with a team Previous experience in leading, management or as a Trustee/governor A good understanding of how a small charity works or a willingness to learn A background of working with young people would be useful but not essential
