Off the Curriculum (OTC), an educational charity, is looking for a Seminar Series Officer to recruit guest speakers for the seminars organised by OTC and help them with the structure of such.

What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact between the guest speakers and the Charity, and hence should have some experience in outreach and communication, to build and foster these relationships. Hours of work: 5 to 7 hours per week (estimated) Length of role: Open-ended Main duties of the role of:
Planning educational programmes in line with the Charity’s ethos Recruiting guest speakers and subject experts in-line with the educational program Liaising with the recruited speakers to establish their seminar structure, confirm their talk, writing up seminar descriptions and relaying the information to other departments within the Charity Supervising seminar volunteers during the online seminars hosted by the Charity Planning and preparing the seminar plans and reports (where applicable)
What are we looking for?
Skills the Seminar Series Officer should have: Essential:
Experience in the educational sector to develop and maintain an educational program Communication, outreach and engagement skills, to recruit guest speakers and maintain relationships with them Passion for education and a drive to explore new topics
Desirable:
Familiarity with the G-suite - google docs, sheets, meet Previous experience managing volunteers
What difference will you make?
The successful candidate would help plan the seminar series, therefore having a major influence on what OTC offers its participants and making sure it is aligned with their needs and interests. Their assistance to the guest speakers would also ensure the adequate structure and content of the seminars.
