What will you be doing?
Ignite Life offer bespoke support services to disadvantaged and/or marginalised young people and families who face barriers in their lives. Ignite provides three core services which work collaboratively to reduce the inequalities disadvantaged young people and families face holistically by creating accessible mental health care for all, reducing the educational gap, providing economic support, and reducing social isolation. Our three main services include mentoring, counselling, and food support. Ignite currently has a board of 6 trustees, each which bring unique skills and expertise to their role. However, we are looking to recruit an additional trustee who will bring finance skills and expertise to our board to support the financial decision making and forecasting along with the overall governance of the charity. Also, supporting with monthly payroll (of 1 member of staff) and authorising payments. Our trustee responsibilities include a minimum of meeting 4 times per year to discuss the current position of the charity and any potential structural changes and decisions. We also welcome any other involvement from the trustees where available. We welcome applications from those who have specifically had lived experiences of the challenges we support to be able to better guide the charity through responsible decision making which will reflect the needs of our service users.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have:
At least three years experience in the financial industry, a huge bonus if this involves working or volunteering in the charity sector Compassionate about supporting young people reaching their potential Great communication, minimum requirement is 4 annual meetings
