Volunteer Seeking trustees with strength in marketing and the arts

What will you be doing?

Attic is a small arts organisation operating out of Mitcham in South London. It has a history of staging theatre productions in central London, tour across the UK and can be delivered in non-traditional spaces, targeting non-traditional theatre going audiences. We also deliver a year round community programme of participatory arts with a social impact to older people at risk of isolation and young people facing challenging circumstances and environments.  With a 30year long history we are an established company with a solid profile of quality work to improve access to the arts, enriching and educating our communities and providing them with meaningful and holistic activities to support their health and wellbeing We have 12 regular weekly community projects and stage at least one theatre production a year. We have a new Artistic Director and a new Creative Engagement Producer, both managed by our longstanding Excecutive Director who oversees the organsation on a day to day basis. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for trustees, with experience in marketing and social media, and with knowledge of the arts sector or of south London. Overall skills in management, governance and strategic direction are advantageous

What difference will you make?

This is a perfect opportunity for a new trustee to join the company at a point of change. With a strong funding base and a new artistic direction, trustees will be able to work with the new Artistic Director to shape a vision for the company which will take it forward, capitalise on the momentum of increased demand for our activities and grow the organisation to a point where we can explore applying for National Portfolio Status to the Arts Council in 2027. As a trustee you will be instrumental in driving the organisation forward, shaping its strategic vision and pinpointing key target groups to expand our services too. With strong representation in Business Management and HR we are now seeking trustees with strengths in the arts either nationally or local to south London and those with expertise in marketing. In a small team we do not have a dedicated marketing department and our digital profile would benefit from support
