What will you be doing?

We currently have a relatively active Twitter (X) account which is popular amongst educators as a platform for sharing teacher tips, research and blogs. We feel this is an effective platform to share the success stories from the collaborations that occur across our network and also to build our following amongst other teachers across Wales, but need some experienced support to help drive this forward.  We also have a LinkedIn page which we feel is more effective for attracting and communicating with and growing the Organisation members, however, additional support is required to develop our following here.  We do not have a facebook page / group or an instagram account at present. We'd be interested in creating an instagram account, but we are conscious that this is reliant on good quality visual content which we don't currently have in great volume. We hope that with additional support to create professional visual content, we can utilise this platform to share the success stories from our network.

What are we looking for?

Experience: - Managing social media account on various platforms. Preferably Twitter (X), LinkedIn and Instagram. - Ideally experience of working within education but not required. Skills: - Photo editing skills. We like to be able to put our logo and text can be added to images we take of collaborations in our network in action.  - Welsh Language skills are desirable in order to create Welsh language Social media content Qualities: - It is important that your share our values and vision for a more equitable education sytem in Wales.  - An awareness of the current educational landscape in Wales - new curriculum / biggest challenges facing teachers etc.

What difference will you make?

ConnectEd Cymru is a network established by secondary school teachers working in more deprived communities. We are devastated to have seen the attainment gap between richer and poorer pupils widen since the pandemic and our vision is to embed equity in our education system in Wales. We intend to do this by matching teachers in school serving dsadvantaged communities with individuals in organisations who share our values and want to offer additional opportunities to those pupils. By targeting our offering specifically where it is needed most, we can broaden horizons of young people where it it is needed most. By offering the employment network and social capital that is more commonly available to those in more privileged communities, we can ensure that everyone, no matter their background, can find their way onto the right path.  The greater the network, the wider our impact. Making strides forward in our social media communication and brand image to develop both the teaching and organisation side of our network is crucial to seeing more success in this network.
