What will you be doing?

The responsibilities of a trustee includes: •    Taking part in formulating and regularly reviewing the strategic aims of the organisation •    Ensuring policy and practices of the organisation are in keeping with its aims •    Ensuring the organisation functions within the legal and financial requirements of a charitable organisation •    Supporting the Chief Executive and their team

Commitment You will be able to commit to attending bi-monthly board meetings which take place on an evening in a central location in Rotherham, as well as attending development and occasional additional meetings and our AGM.  Communication takes place between meetings by email, and occasionally by phone.  It is an Occupational Requirement that applications are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010. What are we looking for?

a)    Essential skills  •    Understanding and or experience of working with people who have complex needs; •    Independent judgement and an ability to challenge in a constructive manner; •    Effective communication skills;    •    Knowledge and experience of Human Resources;  •    Experience of social enterprise/ business  development and growth;   •    Experience of commissioning and fundraising;  •    Financial management;  •    Property and business management; •    Working with charities with a trading arm; •    Experience of digital and  social media technology

You will use your expertise to provide strategic direction, support and governance to the charity to ensure we continue to deliver a first class service.
