What will you be doing?

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone in the local community who has regular time to give each week and who is passionate about supporting a local charity that has a huge impact on children, young people and families across Hampshire. This would suit a volunteer who wishes to use their administrative experience and communication skills, understands and supports the work of the YMCA and loves working with people. You will engage with our existing volunteers, a link between the YMCA and our volunteers as well as helping to identify new opportunities across the areas in which we work which would benefit from volunteers. You will be based at YMCA Fairthorne Manor. An induction together with all the necessary resources and training will be provided to support you in your new volunteering role. There are no set hours, but it would be beneficial to have a regular weekly commitment. We need help with:

Administrative support. Developing our volunteers and helping them transition into new roles. Communicating with our volunteers. Liaising with our friendly teams to promote volunteering opportunities.

We offer:

A supportive and dynamic working environment. The opportunity to develop skills and/or learn new ones. Free on site parking.                                             Discounted café and recreational activities. Free training. Reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses should the need or opportunity arise for you to travel to another location.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years administrative or office experience with the following skills:

Excellent communicator. IT skills (Word, Excel for data population, Outlook) Able to follow established processes and policies. Enjoys being part of a friendly team, working in an office environment. Thrives on meeting new people and supporting them to achieve their goals.

What difference will you make?

With your help we will be able to continue our great work supporting children, young people and families to belong, contribute and thrive in their communities.
