Volunteer Fundraising Director

What will you be doing?

Their main tasks of the Fundraising Director are to:

Take responsibility as a Trustee on Chorus Council Manage the Patrons and Friends scheme to ensure that we look after our current supporters and attract more. Develop strategy for Grants funding and generate income from multiple sources. Manage the Chorus Lottery scheme Manage CD and other sales to ensure that merchandise is available for purchase where appropriate Develop our general fundraising activities, including sponsorship of events Council point of contact for the function choir manager

What are we looking for?

Experience of funding arrangements in the performing arts world would be a distinct advantage as well as an enthusiasm for choral singing as a way to achieve community cohesion, better mental health and and continuing the role choral music plays in the musical mix of the UK. 

What difference will you make?

Our charitable aim is to educate and bring high quality music to audiences and our singers. We have a strong interest in innovative programming; commissioning new work and involving young people in our concerts. Commissioning supports music creators without whom we would have almost no new music, innovation brings little-known works alongside popular music thereby expanding audience's musical knowledge - and without enabling young people to experience the joys of singing in a large choir in amazing spaces (such as St Albans Cathedral) we would not have a thriving UK choral scene in future years..  This is a vital role which will help us to commission more new music, engage with local schools and diverse communities to encourage participation in music through choirs and bringing high quality performances to Hertfordshire.
