What will you be doing?

Monitor and report on our social media presence, thereby informing our strategy. Social media execution (including but not limited to main Website, YouTube Channel, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts), and planning a social media calendar. Bring our charity brand to life, through your creativity. Develop and implement effective social media strategies and content/campaigns for recruitment of our courses and advise on content that supports communications, fundraising or campaigns objectives, but also is optimised for the audience and channels which should also appeal to funders. Identify opportunities to increase our charity brand, influence and fundraising or campaigning initiatives by helping to create  engaging and relevant content, including text, images, and short videos. Able to edit and re-size images and videos for different platforms.  Understanding of social media platforms and best practices for optimising video content for each platform. Working with our volunteers and participants on the ground to tell persuasive stories with an ability to translate complex and sensitive narratives into easily accessible social media content. Track and analyse social media metrics and performance to optimise campaigns drive and grow meaningful engagement.

What are we looking for?

Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or similar role with hands-on experience of planning, implementing and evaluating effective social media campaigns across all platforms. Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling and engaging content. Experience of representing a brand online. Creative mindset with an eye for design and visually appealing content. Proficiency in editing images and video clips for social media channels, and knowledge of best formats, aspect ratios and lengths of content for each platform/channel. Proficiency in using social media management tools, analytics platforms, and scheduling software a plus. Knowledge of SEO principles and how they apply to social media content. Keen interest in industry trends, digital marketing, and emerging social media platforms.

Understanding of and empathy with the sector, experience working with sensitive and controversial topics.
