What will you be doing?
The role of Active Prospects’ Board is to govern the organisation in line with its vision, aims and organisational objectives and to provide overall policy direction. Board Members are responsible collectively and individually for ensuring the legal, regulatory and statutory requirements of a Community Benefit Company, and an Organisation registered with the Care Quality Commission. The role is a voluntary one and you will be supported by other Board members, an experienced and hardworking CEO and Executive Team who undertake the operational delivery and strategy development supported by the Board’s oversight, scrutiny and creative input. The role will require around six days a year equivalent input. The role is unpaid but we will pay expenses, for equipment to carry out the role, and invest in your development. What are we looking for?
We are looking for a new Board member with skills and experience in social care / care management. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
Communication and interpersonal skills combined with a collaborative approach Knowledge of, and interest in, the social care sector Ambitions for our people and commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and our environmental sustainability Ability to uphold and role model Active Prospects standards, values and brand
What difference will you make?
This is an exciting time to join the Board at Active Prospects. In the last 5 years we have grown together as an organisation from a turnover of £6 million to £13 million, supporting over 200 people each year with a staff team of nearly 400. We have built a strong reputation for enabling people to leave long stay institutions and facilitating sector-leading co-production.
