We are a UK based charity working with a community in Uganda. We are looking for a Trustee to join us as Treasurer in this small but well connected charity developing access to clean water, food and education.

What will you be doing?
The charity works closely with the community and other great partners to support water projects, sustainable farming projects, and education and training in health, business startups and more. In the last couple of years we have been working to help schools in the region repair leaking water tanks, set up rain water harvesting facilities and build latrines. Our great partnerships in Africa mean that we can get things done in the way that the community needs whilst also having the access and transparency we require to ensure funds are spent correctly and efficiently.
What are we looking for?
Financial Management skills and experience (minimum 3 years) preferably in the Charity sector Highly trustworthy and accountable Conscientious and proactive to meet Financial deadlines Communicative and responsive as required
What difference will you make?
We need someone who can help with Financial guidance, decision making and management of our funds and accounts to keep us compliant with the Charities Commission of the UK as well as handle funds as needed for our projects. As a Trustee you will also be able to join with us in decision making about the direction of the charity, identifying new projects, working with stakeholders in Africa and taking part in any of our work that interests you. It may be bringing clean water to 100s of children at a school, setting up small businesses to earn sustainable incomes or a farming project to grow food or rear animals.
