Role Summary

  • Manage accounts payable functions and minimize exposure to foreign exchange fees.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of invoices, and their timely entry into accounting systems.
  • Manage payments across multiple currencies, and monitor and manage working capital.
  • Assist in preparing cash flow forecasts and support the month-end close process.

Role Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance role and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience with invoice processing, payment runs, bank reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage and strong Excel skills.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and standards like IFRS or GAAP.

Houst is seeking a dedicated Cash and Banking Administrator to join our finance team in Cape Town. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our group's cashflows and foreign exchange management. As a Cash and Banking Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, minimizing exposure to foreign exchange fees, maintaining payment reconciliations, and optimizing working capital efficiency.

The role: You will handle responsibilities including invoice processing and management, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of invoices, and timely entry into accounting systems. Additionally, you will manage and execute payments across multiple currencies, monitor and manage working capital, and assist in preparing cash flow forecasts. Your role will also involve supporting the month-end close process and maintaining financial records.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a finance role, with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional qualification is preferred. You should have experience with invoice processing, payment runs, bank reconciliations, and be proficient in accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. Strong Excel skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles and standards such as IFRS or GAAP.
