Volunteer Treasurer for Charity: trustee or volunteer

What will you be doing?

We need a treasurer to help us . We met 4-6 times a year and need someone to liaise with our accountancy firm  to provide and interpret financial reports to the board and the director. As with all charities, grants and fundraising are core to our survival and this continues to be our biggest challenge so we need strong financial skills support. The young people were serve have a range of mental health issues ranging from autism and ADHD to school avoiders and those who are socially awkward, those suffering with depression and more. We offer a range of services based around arts and clinical support where needed to provide them a safe space to thrive.  Lived experience isn't necessary, but an understanding of the challenges that young people can experience would be an asset. Any experience of grant funding applications would also be a plus. We're a small board and all like to muck in, often volunteering ourselves within the charity. You'll often find us holding board meetings in the pub!

What are we looking for?

Accountancy skills and the ability to distil complex financial data to those who aren't as skilled is a must. Knowledge of Xero would be a huge benefit Experience of submitting funding applications, particularly the financial side of things is important as is creating the financial data to report back to funders

The role of treasurer is really important to us. We would really value someone with the financial skills  to guide us through challenging times but who will appreciate the impact of what they bring to the young people we help.
