What will you be doing?
Role: President (Trustee Role) Where: From home with meetings in Birmingham city centre or online When: Quarterly trustee meetings (evenings), monthly executive committee meetings and occasional other meetings. Plus 3 - 4 hours of admin per week What does this role involve?
Leading the trustees in delivering the society’s charitable objects Leading the trustees in developing and delivering the charity's business plan Ensuring that the society complies with Charity Commission and other relevant guidelines and its Constitution Chairing trustee meetings Chairing the AGM Chairing monthly meetings of the executive committee to manage the day to day business of the society Working with trustees, members and external partners to develop a programme of projects, events and activities Working with the Treasurer and wider trustees to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the society Participation in relevant local and regional meetings eg CBA Regional Forum, BCC Heritage Strategy Group

What can you bring to the role?
Senior leadership experience Experience as a charity trustee Good knowledge of charity legislation Interest in the local history and archaeology of Birmingham and Warwickshire Broad understanding of heritage legislation and the heritage sector Commitment to community engagement in heritage Track record in fundraising and grant applications
