Legasee have filmed interviews with hundreds of military veterans and are looking for a talented Social Media Volunteer to help us manage and develop a strong online presence by sharing their incredible stories.

What will you be doing?

Your role will be to create and schedule posts on both existing and new social media accounts (Facebook page / group, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc).

You will be responsible for creating content that promotes the charity’s video archive, it’s teaching resources and our educational projects. Your goal is to increase the charity’s profile, its support base and engagements. Good written communication skills, combined with accuracy and laser focused attention to detail are pre-requisites.

We are looking for someone who can commit to working on our social media strategy for at least 3 months. You will benefit from training and on-going skills development, as well as professional support from a small team of friendly Trustees.

Most of the work will be done remotely, but you will have the opportunity to join activities for the creation of media (photographing and filming activities, gaining quotes from staff and participants, etc). All expenses will be reimbursed.

We welcome applicants from ALL sections of the community and will work flexibly with you to ensure your volunteering journey is a positive and satisfying experience.

What are we looking for?

You will need to be IT literate with demonstrable skills in the use of Social Media management tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Social Pilot etc Additionally, you will have experience of setting up and producing original content on online platforms like Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. And lastly, you must have excellent, written communication skills with an ability to think creatively.
