We are looking for 3 Trustees for the Trustee Board of Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice, setting strategic direction and taking overall legal responsibility for our work of providing advice to all who need it in our local community.

What will you be doing?

Maintaining an awareness of the business of ACCA. Taking responsibility for own learning and development. Regularly attending, preparing for and taking a full part in meetings. Actively contributing to setting policy and strategic direction, defining goals, setting targets and evaluating performance. Monitoring whether ACCA’s service complies with its governing document, whether it meets national Citizens Advice standards and how well the advice needs of the local community are met. Monitoring the financial position of ACCA and ensuring that it operates within its means and objects, and that there are clear lines of accountability for day-to-day financial management. Supporting the development of ACCA through participation in agreed projects. Actively seeking to further the strategic objectives of ACCA, and acting in its best interests at all times. Maintaining confidentiality about any sensitive or confidential information receives in the course of duties as a Trustee.

What are we looking for?

We need 3 Trustees to join us and you will have any of the following:  (a) Marketing/Communications experience, (b) Health & Safety experience or (c) Contractual experience and also will have:

Commitment to the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service, including those related to equal opportunities, independence and research and campaigns. Commitment and availability to attend meetings of the ACCA Trustee Board and any relevant sub-committee and working groups Understanding of responsibilities and liabilities as Trustee and employer. Sufficient knowledge of financial planning and budgeting to fully participate in Trustee Board discussions on these matters.  Ability to think creatively and strategically, and to exercise good, independent judgement. Board-level communication and influencing skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
