What will you be doing?
Working as part of a team of board Members, new trustees will bring fresh knowledge, expertise and vision to the organisation. Housing Initiatives board members are key in the development and and driving forward of the organisation's future plans, assisting in the setting of policy, defining of goals, setting of targets and evaluation of performance against agreed targets.. Housing Initiatives trustees will attend quarterly meetings with the Board either face to face or remotely. Trustees are encouraged to use their unique skills and experience to assist the board with new initiatives, developing existing services and the making of sound decisions. What are we looking for?
Housing Initiatives are looking for Trustees with a commitment to its vision and values and our dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities and/or learning difficulties along with a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to the role. Good independent judgement, willingness to speak your mind and the ability to think creatively are important skills for the role of trustee. You will need to have an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship and be able to work effectively as part of a team. We do not require you to have a formal qualification for this role, however the Applicant should have proven knowledge or experience in at least one of the following:
Accountancy / Auditing Financial management Legal
