What will you be doing?
The role would include maintaining and preparing financial accounts for our charitable organization registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Key responsibilities would include compliance with regulatory standards, specifically year-end reporting but also with regard to Companies House filing. There will also be periodic meetings with the Principal and Trustees. The Francis Bacon Society was established in 1886 and is one of the oldest literary societies in the UK. We are a relatively small charity with 5 Trustees/Members of the Council and a Principal. The work involved would not be overly time consuming or arduous but would be hugely beneficial to the smooth running and growth of our literary society. A love of history and literature would be welcome but not essential.
