What difference will you make?
Governors are responsible for overseeing the management side of a school; strategy, policy, budgeting and staffing. They enable their school to run as effectively as possible, working alongside senior leaders and supporting teachers to provide excellent education to children.
What is in it for you?
Being a governor allows you to gain a variety of new skills, and develop the ones you already have. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think your career experience- or lack of it - is relevant to education; governing bodies need people from all backgrounds who can bring their professional knowledge to the school.
