Role Summary
- Provide leadership and contribute to the development and execution of health challenge and discovery research initiatives.
- Strategically scope areas of interest and shape internal research and development projects.

Role Requirements
- Demonstrated research expertise in a relevant field, with experience in academic, industrial, funding agency, or charity settings.
- Knowledge of key scientific and research organizations and communities.
- Proven experience in a relevant field of research.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage a heavy workload with competing priorities.
- Proficiency in delivering presentations and synthesizing information clearly and concisely.

The role: The Discovery Research team supports a broad programme of transformative research that leads to significant shifts in our understanding of life, health and wellbeing. We are looking for a Senior Research Manager to join our team. In this role you will contribute to the leadership, development and delivery of the health challenge/ discovery research, ensuring strategic objectives are met. You will lead on scoping areas of interest, shaping and advancing internal research and development projects and be responsible for a number of large projects.
Job requirements: Able to demonstrate a breadth of research expertise in a relevant field through relevant work experience in an academic, industrial, funding agency or charity setting. Experience/knowledge of universities, funders and other relevant scientific and research organisations and communities. Significant experience in working in relevant field. Ability to employ diverse approaches to effectively communicate complex information to individuals and groups from a range of different background and different seniority levels. Excellent organisational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a fluctuating, heavy, workload and competing priorities. Articulate with strong verbal communication skills. Adept at delivering presentations. Evidence of excellent writing skills with ability to synthesise information conveying key points clearly and concisely.
