What will you be doing?
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic volunteer to help take Adavu to its next stage of development as it tackles the crime of modern slavery and supports survivors. Key tasks would include: Marketing and communications:
to work with trustees and staff to create an effective Marketing and Communications Policy and Strategy to advise and support trustees and staff on an ongoing basis on how to improve its marketing and communications, overseeing an annual review to work with Adavu staff to create a regular scheduling of quality, sensitive and impactful social posts in line with our internal guidelines to advise, support and participate in responses to media approaches
What are we looking for?
Marketing and communications experience and skills – in any sector Creativity and willingness to think of new ideas to raise funds and/or communicate with others A willingness to be available to give advice and answer enquiries from any staff or volunteers on an ad hoc basis, including approaches from the media be committed to the purpose, objects and values of the organisation be committed to understand modern slavery and its impact on victims and survivors in a trauma informed way be constructive about others’ opinions in discussions be able to act reasonably and responsibly when undertaking such duties and performing tasks be able to maintain confidentiality on sensitive and confidential information understand the importance and purpose of meetings, and be committed to preparing for them adequately and attending them when necessary be able to analyse information and, when necessary, challenge constructively Sensitivity towards people of all Christian traditions, those of other faiths, and those of no faith
What difference will you make?
Your input will shape how we present ourselves to our service users, stakeholders, funders and general public. With your help we will be able to continue to tackle modern slavery in the West Midlands, working collaboratively with key partners and agencies to model and promote best practice and to tackle injustice in order to drive systemic change. You will also help us raise awareness of modern slavery through training to a range of partners. Your expert input will also help us grow our supporter and donor base so that our resources increase, allowing us to continue to expand and develop our survivor support programme - ultimately helping us to support more survivors of modern slavery rebuild lives of freedom, hope and dignity in the long-term.
