What will you be doing?
The Safeguarding Lead provides advice and guidance to the membership at all levels on policy and practice for safeguarding both volunteers and sanctuary seekers. The main purpose is to:
To guide and advise the Trustees and Executive Team in all safeguarding aspects of DAR’s work To regularly review and update the Safeguarding Policy and ensure it is communicated to all members To ensure all members are trained in safeguarding practices
What are we looking for?
We're looking for the following skills and experience: Essential
At least 3 years’ experience of working in a safeguarding role Excellent oral and written English Able to present and run briefing sessions Collaborative and supportive of colleagues Excellent attention to detail
Desirable
Leadership and/or board experience Previous volunteer/charity sector experience Lived experience of the asylum or immigration system

Our volunteers share their concerns and sometimes their stories are too difficult to hear. That's why a strong, supportive safeguarding environment where everyone is aware of their responsibilities is vital for both our volunteers and those we .
