What will you be doing?
Firstly we are looking for a volunteer who lives within 25 miles of the canal route, with proven experience in book-keeping and accounting preferably with an accounting qualifications such a AAT or above. Experience with a PC based accounting package, ideally Sage 50, bank reconciliations and appropriate IT skills. Your major tasks will be:
Monthly posting of all HQ bank transactions, ensuring the balancing of ledger figures to the bank statements Monthly posting of visitor centre and boat team transactions, ensuring the balancing of ledger figures to the bank statements Quarterly posting of all branch transactions, ensuring the balancing of ledger figures to the bank statements In future, to learn and cover additional tasks from other Finance Team members to support the process of building resilience across all aspects of WBCT accounting
What are we looking for?
The selected candidate for this voluntary role will have the following experience and skills:
Proven experience in book-keeping and accounting, preferably with an accounting qualification such as AAT or above Experience of using a modern PC-based accounting package (ideally Sage 50) Experience of performing bank reconciliations Appropriate proficiency in written English and mathematics, together with appropriate IT skills
They will be accountable to the Head of Accounts who will assist them in getting to know the role.
