The Grange Centre for People with Disabilities has an exciting opportunity for a trustee to join its board.  We are seeking an individual with social care experience who will help to shape the support and care the charity offers.

What will you be doing?

The role of Trustee at The Grange is an exciting and fulfilling one. We believe that the most effective Boards are ones which have diverse voices around the table, including lived experiences, as diversity breeds innovation. As a Trustee at The Grange you will join a dynamic team that is committed to supporting people with disabilities to lead independent and fulfilling lives.  You will be helping The Grange to lead the way as provider of choice for people with disabilities, inspiring our local and wider communities. We have an experienced Chair who encourages a supportive environment in what will be a rewarding and satisfying role that also enables personal development and growth. New Trustees are fully supported through their induction into the organisation and will be expected to attend a minimum of four board meetings per year, an annual Away Day and subcommittee meetings. Trustees will be offered reimbursement for any expenses Trustee Key Responsibilities

To ensure that the charity has a clear vision, mission and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these To be responsible for the performance of the charity and for its ‘corporate’ behaviour To ensure that the charity complies with all legal and regulatory requirements  To safeguard the charity’s assets, taking all due care over their security, deployment, and proper application To ensure that the charity’s governance is of the highest possible standard and conforms to current legislation

What are we looking for?

We are looking for Trustees who have:

a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to their duties as a trustee experience of social care strategic vision good, independent judgement  an ability to think creatively  a willingness to speak their mind the ability to work effectively as a member of a team

What difference will you make?

As a Trustee at The Grange you will be actively involved in the strategic direction, governance and decision making of the charity.  The Grange has been supporting its community for 85 years.  As a trustee you will help The Grange to continue to develop and improve the services it offers to the community we support.  We want to expand the support we offer both to the people who live in accommodation owned by us and who attend our skills sessions and events.
