What will you be doing?

The kind of person we’re looking for loves working in a team towards the common goal of improving the world around us. You will be fascinated by communications and excited to learn about our methodology. You’ll be keen to play a significant role in a small, award-winning organisation. You will be up for a challenge and will enjoy the support of an experienced and friendly team. Supporting the Director of Communications 

Support with general administration, diary management, co-ordination of meetings, expenses Support with gathering and distilling information, sourcing information and examples Support with drafting and editing funding proposals and reports

Supporting In the Shadow of the Midnight Sun project delivery 

Support setting up face to face/Zoom meetings at all project events ‘Tech support’ i.e. behind the scenes help on Zoom training events and workshops Supporting the project team with related administration including note-taking Support with the project’s monitoring and evaluation systems and preparing the project’s funding reports or future proposals Supporting the team with booking travel, exhibition, promotion

What are we looking for?

Position Skills

Administrative experience: You will be highly organised with strong attention to detail.  Systems: You are a quick learner, and will be able to get on with the tasks required, as well as be able to use your initiative to make improvements to systems in place. Communication: You’ll have a warm and professional communication style and will be great at talking to people, whether they be campaigners or funders, listening to and meeting their needs. You have an excellent eye for detail and have strong writing skills - able to send clear, concise emails ahead of events and minutes after these. IT literate and online presence: You will know your way around a computer and be comfortable using different systems. You will have used WordPress, Google Drive and Outlook. A strong instinct for digital communications: You will be social media savvy and have some experience in using different channels to support and enhance an organisation’s work.  Organisation and prioritisation: You will be comfortable and confident working in a busy environment, able to keep events and administration on track with your excellent organisation skills. You have experience in prioritising a workload and aren’t afraid to communicate shifting priorities to your team. Problem-solving skills: Inevitably, things go wrong or take unusual turns – you’ll be able and up for working with your team to find solutions to the issue at hand. You’re not afraid to reach out to colleagues when things go wrong, and you won’t overthink mistakes.
