At DAR, our aim is to support refugees and asylum seekers to settle in Darlington. Since we work with families, our volunteers required DBS certification. We're looking for someone to manage the DBS process for our volunteers

What will you be doing?
You will:
Implement the DBS process for new DAR members in a timely manner Liaise with new members and the DBS agency to ensure documentation is verified and that applications are processed quickly and effectively Issue reminders to current members when DBS renewals are due Maintain accurate, up to date spreadsheets of DBS certification Provide reports and recommend improvements to the DBS process, as appropriate Support the Membership and Volunteer Coordinator, Enquiries Administrator and DAR Secretary with additional administrative tasks and provide cover for these roles when required. This includes undertaking the following tasks:
Managing enquiries process Ensuring members have completed safeguarding training and updating records Issuing offers to new members Organising and preparing for Trustee and Executive meetings Taking minutes at meetings
What are we looking for?
You will have the following skills/experience: Essential
Previous administrative experience, including maintaining records Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel Ability to communicate well in English, both in writing and orally Organisational skills Willingness to learn Adaptability Collaborative and supportive of colleagues
Desirable
Lived experience of the asylum or immigration system Previous volunteer/charity sector experience Experience of organising and recording minutes of meetings Experience of using Google software suite
