What will you be doing?

As the Legal Advisor for enABLE Foundation UK, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our mission to reduce the impact of dementia globally. Working closely with the board, you will be instrumental in ensuring that the foundation's activities, initiatives, and collaborations are consistent with prevailing legal frameworks and uphold the highest standards of integrity and compliance. Key Responsibilities:

Legal Guidance: Provide comprehensive legal advice to the board on various topics, ensuring that the foundation's strategies and actions comply with applicable laws and regulations. Policy Development: Assist in formulating, reviewing, and updating the foundation's internal policies, ensuring they reflect best practices and adhere to legal norms. Contract Review: Oversee and advise on drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and agreements with partners, vendors, and other stakeholders. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks in the foundation's operations and propose preemptive measures or solutions to mitigate those risks. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the foundation complies with all local, national, and international regulations related to non-profit operations, fundraising, and dementia care advocacy. Litigation Management: Provide counsel on legal matters that might arise, representing the foundation when necessary and guiding the board on appropriate courses of action. Stakeholder Engagement: Work with the board and other foundation members to liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, to ensure that the foundation's interests are adequately represented. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that might impact the foundation, ensuring that the board is informed and prepared for any shifts in the legal landscape.

Legal Expertise: Proficient understanding of the legal framework, especially those pertinent to non-profits, healthcare, data protection, and intellectual property. Contract Review & Drafting: Ability to draft, review, and interpret contracts, ensuring they align with the foundation's goals and comply with regulatory standards. Regulatory Compliance: Adeptness at ensuring that the foundation adheres to all local, national, and international regulations, particularly those related to non-profit operations and healthcare. Dispute Resolution: Capabilities in handling and resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration, minimizing the risk of litigation. Risk Assessment: Proficiency in identifying potential legal risks and recommending preventive actions.


Non-profit Sector: Familiarity with the legal challenges and requirements specific to non-profit organizations. Healthcare & Patient Rights: Experience with legal matters related to healthcare and patient rights, beneficial for an organization focusing on dementia care. Board Engagements: Previous roles or engagements requiring collaboration with board members or executive teams to ensure legal considerations are integral to strategic decisions. Licensing and Partnerships: Dealing with intellectual property, collaborations, and partnerships, ensuring all engagements are legally sound.


Analytical Thinker: Ability to analyze complex legal scenarios, weigh pros and cons, and provide actionable advice. Ethical Integrity: Prioritizing moral values and ethical standards in all legal proceedings and recommendations. Clear Communicator: The capacity to explain intricate legal concepts in a manner that's comprehensible to those without a legal background. Proactive & Diligent: Taking initiative to stay updated on relevant legal changes and ensuring the foundation remains compliant. Collaborative: Ability to work harmoniously with board members, stakeholders, and external partners, ensuring the foundation's legal posture is both defensive and strategic.
