What will you be doing?

At DAR we care passionately that everyone who seeks sanctuary in this country deserves to be welcomed, treated with dignity and supported in navigating life in the UK.  What makes us different is that every one of our members is a volunteer.  With around 75 active volunteers involved in mentoring, teaching English, providing guidance, fundraising and campaigning, you can imagine how much funding that requires. That’s why we’re now looking for an experienced Bid Coordinator to drive our funding strategy As our Bid Coordinator, you will:

Research potential funding opportunities from foundations, government bodies, and other relevant organisations Develop and write grant proposals, ensuring they are tailored to the specific requirements of each funding opportunity Present our projects and organisation in a clear and persuasive manner to maximise chances of success Manage and organise all documentation related to grant applications and maintain records for reporting purposes Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and changes in the grant writing landscape Monitor and respond to feedback from funders and make necessary adjustments to improve future applications

What are we looking for?

Excellent written English Proven experience in bid writing and securing funding for non-profit organisations, preferably in the charitable sector Good understanding of the grant application process and success criteria

Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner A track record of successfully securing grants for projects of varying scale and complexity

We are particularly interested in receiving applications from those who have had experience as refugees or asylum seekers.

What difference will you make?

Your skill in winning funding bids will enable us to establish a base for our volunteers and service users.  Ensuring we have a steady income will also allow us to develop our services, as well as maintain those we currently provide to help Refugees and Asylum Seekers have a better quality of life as they settle here or await the Home Office decision on their claim.
