What will you be doing?

Two Generations is a social enterprise that reduces loneliness and poverty, supports carers and provides affordable accommodation through Homeshares. We also help vet and match hosts for refugees.

What are we looking for?

We are now looking for a Homeshare Research and Marketing Volunteer who will lead on identifying appropriate ‘sharers’ to be matched with our pool of householders who have particular requirements or might live in more rural locations.  The role will include finding local blogs to feature on, creating posts for local social media channels, contacting local councils and hospitals to explore if key workers or the public are looking for accommodation in this area, contacting local universities, writing press releases for local press (radio, online, papers), and researching online options for advertising home sharers. We're looking for someone with experience with social media, online market research, and/or someone with operational background. You will work independently but have the full support of the wider Two Generations Team.

What difference will you make?

Every Homeshare in place will mean that someone's life is transformed. For example:

A chronically lonely person who's despairing finally having some company An unpaid carer for a partner with health issues finally being able to leave the house and take a break An anxious person feeling much more relaxed because they know there's someone else in the house at night; and their children feeling reassured because they live far away. Someone is able to go home from the hospital earlier because they have someone to cook and clean for them An elderly person is able to remain in their home for 50 years rather than go to a care home
