What will you be doing?
One of NGA's most important projects is a women's mutual coaching community called Women in Mutual Support (WIMS). Women who participate in WIMS learn coaching skills which they can use to help family, friends, and neighbours to more effectively identify and achieve their life and work goals. The participants themselves also gain this same benefit through mutual coaching as they also create a community of women connected through strands of mutual support. Volunteers are needed to lead, manage, and support sessions. We are looking for a volunteer with at least three years of experience involving strategic mentoring or coaching. They may also play a role in finding and/or providing additional training and support to help participants meet the goals they have clarified through mutual coaching.
What are we looking for?
This opportunity is for women volunteers only. The volunteer should have at least three years experience in strategic mentoring/coaching Among the skills that will be helpful for WIMS volunteers are: strong empathy, good communication skills, an open mind to difference, dependability, and readiness to learn both on your own and through training.
What difference will you make?
This project has the dual aims of 1) building strong community amongst diverse women and 2) helping women to identify and achieve their goals. Both aims are life enhancing and potentially life changing for the participants. They are likely to have large positive spill-over effects for families, friends, and neighbours.
