What will you be doing?
The RNLI's Gravesend team are an ambitious group seeking to grow and diversify over the coming year. As part of this, they are currently recruiting for fundraising group members to help to plan and support events as well as generate ideas for fundraising opportunities and new ways to engage the community and raise awareness of the lifesaving work of the RNLI on the Thames. This will likely involve a couple of hours a month at the team meeting (usually a Monday or Tuesday evening at the Three Dawes pub in Gravesend) and attendance at events when it fits with your availability - we'd ideally like someone who can attend at least two or three events per year. Some experience of event planning would be useful, as would experience of working in community engagement but we'd be delighted to hear from anyone with a skill set that would lend itself to community fundraising and engagement
What are we looking for?
Ideally we are looking for a volunteer with either experience in fundraising, events or community engagement, happy to work as part of a diverse team. Time commitment can be pretty flexible but attendance at most monthly meetings would be useful
What difference will you make?
The team have set themselves an ambitious target of raising £100k during 2024. Your skills and time will be an enormous help in supporting the team to reach this target through a variety of channels ranging from corporate partnerships, events and community fundraising and engagement.
