What will you be doing?

We’re urgently looking for a Human Resources Manager volunteer for our Community Interest Company.  We need help:

With all aspects of Human Resources and Volunteers. To make sure we can meet the continued increases in demand for our therapeutic service.  Bring in new volunteers for our out-reach provision at new nurseries, schools, colleges and organisations. 

  We’d love a Human Relations Manager volunteer who is experienced and can:

Build strong relationships with all members of the team, including new volunteers. Proofread, publish, maintain and remove volunteer ads and role descriptions. Coordinate new volunteers’ (and any future employees) administration e.g., scheduling interviews and paperwork, responding to questions. Arrange new volunteer meetings against calendars. Log volunteer (and any future employees) contracts on database. Prepare, copy and distribute email letters to volunteers. Update and develop our training and onboarding material, where necessary. Facilitate Volunteer Inductions (and any future employees). Follow current HR compliance as well as any new initiatives. Update, create and distribute our Policy documents. Perform occasional  general administrative and office support activities.

Can quickly understand the needs and challenges faced by our volunteers, families and our organisation - and can be creative when they need to be, to problem solve these. Can work well to a deadline and has good time management.  Has excellent attention to detail. Can communicate using straightforward and  accessible language.

Skills

Excellent and inclusive verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience using spreadsheets, databases,  MS Office, Google Documents etc.  Knowledge of volunteer guidance and/or legislation. Self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative, with clear organisational skills.

  Specific skills and experience  We expect all of our team to have knowledge and experience in the following areas: 

Mental health and wellbeing challenges and its impact.

Living with or have experience of socio-economic deprivation and/or marginalised communities.

Understanding of the impact that housing insecurity may bring to a child, young person and their family’s mental health and wellbeing.
