Volunteer Fundraiser for Children's Mental Health Charity - Somerset

What will you be doing?

What will you be doing? Family Counselling Trust is a low-cost early intervention counselling service for children, young people and their families across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire (especially for families on low incomes). We are funded by grants and donations. The need for our service is continually growing so we need to raise more funds to keep up with the increase in referrals in Somerset.

What are we looking for? Essential

Demonstrated experience in fundraising (bid writing, local campaigns etc.). Good communication and cooperation, to work as part of a team. Great organisational skills and creativity to help organise fundraising events.  Passionate about our mission. Located in Somerset.

Desirable

Acumen for finding funding opportunities – looking at grant-giving bodies, HNW individuals, businesses and organisations in Wiltshire.  Familiarity with the processes of funding agencies and grant giving bodies.

What difference will you make? Our mission is to deliver low-cost, early counselling support to the children, young people and families who need it (predominantly low-income families across Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire). Our early intervention model delivers treatment from qualified and experienced psychological therapists before challenges become more severe. We are responding to an increase in referrals due to the pandemic and the cost of living crisis and need to grow to keep up with demand.  Your fundraising activities would help us to be able to deliver more of this vital mental health support across Somerset, to the families who need it.
