The Friends of Brompton Cemetery arrange a full calendar of events, including the annual Open Day, tours, concerts, art exhibitions, workshops, lectures etc. You will be instrumental in planning the events for 2023.

What will you be doing?
We need someone to oversee the event calendar, support the people running the events. ensure that events are correctly booked into the appropriate rooms/facilities, with the necessary equipment. You will also plan the year's regular and special tours and assist in organising the Volunteers' Socials which happen 2-3 times per year. You will have a key role in communicating the planned events to the Website manager, the Social Media Coordinator, the Newsletter editor, the FoBC magazine editor, and to the Volunteer coordinator, to ensure events are publicised appropriately. You will also liaise closely with the Royal Parks, who manage the Cemetery, to ensure that our events have their approval and do not clash with any events they are organising. Plus other external groups such as other Friends groups. We hope you will have lots of initiative and can help develop a strategy for what events are held in the Cemetery. You will be part of a team that includes the Chapel Coordinator (who organises events in the Chapel) and the Volunteer Coordinator (who manages the Information Centre at North Lodge). If you are happy using Social Media, you can support the Social Media coordinator, and contribute to our Facebook/Instagram/Twitter feeds with details of the events. This role can be done at times and days that suit the applicant. It is difficult to predict the hours, but it will require some time every week. There will be cover available for holidays. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least 1 year of volunteering. There will be some meetings at Brompton Cemetery, otherwise the role can be done from home. Access to a computer and competent computer skills are required. We can provide you with details of all the wonderful events we have organised in the past. And there is plenty of scope to shape this role into something that suits you.

You will be a key contact for other volunteers, for the Royal Parks staff, and for the public about everything that is going on in the Cemetery. You will ensure that the wonderful events that are organised are promoted appropriately and you will increase the public awareness of Brompton Cemetery.
