The role: You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service along with driving sales to Antarctic and Arctic regions. You will be matching the perfect polar trip to our customers’ requirements, providing guidance, inspiration and enthusiasm for these holidays of a lifetime. Customers will be looked after from the moment they enquire with us, to the moment they depart on their trip. Receive and respond to incoming post booking enquiries via phone and email. Answer customer and agent enquiries about our Polar tours and destinations, bringing the experience to life for our customers. Check availability and the status of tours in our product database. Quote prices of tours and take payments from our customers. Convert enquires into bookings to achieve revenue and passenger targets. Use destination and product knowledge to ensure the best decision of the customer. Take part in continuous product & sales training. Travel to our overseas destinations to experience our tours and products. Travel within the UK to visit our expedition ships, participate in trade shows and customer events.
Job requirements: Experience working in Travel Sales within a contact centre environment. Experience of building rapport with customers. Knowledge of, or passion for the Polar regions. Experience of working to, and achieving revenue and passenger targets. Experience of working in a team environment and achieving KPI’s (e.g. conversion, NPS). Working with email communication to customers. Enthusiastic about delivering great customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with using a tailormade travel product database. Experience in using travel product database systems. Highly organised. Experience using CRM system/GDS is desirable. Personal travel experience to the Arctic or Antarctic and knowledge of Polar destination operators will be an advantage.
Benefits: This role is based in Farnborough, Hampshire with 2 days per week in the office. Our office is within walking distance of the train station and has free parking. This is a full-time position, however work life balance is important to us and so we are open to discussion on flexible working patterns (minimum 4 days per week). Mandatory office days are Mondays and Thursdays. Salary: £26,000 p.a. + up to £1,000/month commission + bonus.
