Role Summary
- Launch and grow YoungOnes' presence in the UK, focusing on cities like Birmingham, Edinburgh, or Liverpool.
- Drive both the demand and supply side of the marketplace, effectively acting as the General Manager for your city.
- Onboard local businesses and freelancers to the platform.
- Collaborate with headquarters to craft and execute scalable growth strategies.
- Take charge of sales initiatives and form key local media relationships.
- Test and refine client acquisition techniques on the ground.
Role Requirements
- Exceptional proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Residence in Birmingham, Edinburgh, or Liverpool with the ability to frequently visit the London HQ.
- At least 4 years of experience in sales, with a track record of success.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for people.

YoungOnes operates a two-sided marketplace that allows businesses to find freelancers for short-term and often last-minute gigs. Last year, more than 40,000 freelancers found gigs through the platform and together they worked over 5.5 million hours. With a highly profitable business in the Netherlands (>10M EUR in annual profits), we’re now expanding internationally.
As a Sales City Launcher, you will be responsible for growing YoungOnes in the UK. You will need an entrepreneurial mindset to grow your city from scratch. You’ll be the GM for your city, responsible for both demand and supply and kickstarting the growth flywheel. You can expect to work both on high priority strategic projects as well as getting your hands dirty on a daily basis.
Your responsibilities will include onboarding businesses who can immediately use extra staff for temporary gigs and freelancers, working with HQ to develop a strategy to scale acquisition on both sides of the marketplace, taking on full sales responsibility for your city, forming relationships with local press, and experimenting with client acquisition tactics.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in both spoken and written communication in English, based in Birmingham, Edinburgh or Liverpool with frequent visits to our HQ in London, have at least 4 years of experience in a sales-related role, and be a born entrepreneur who likes working with people.
The salary for this role is approximately £65k, based on experience.
