About Marshmallow We started Marshmallow when we found out how unfair insurance prices are for people who move to the UK. We saw an opportunity to do things differently, so we made it our mission to back the ones who step outside the norm. We serve people that are often overlooked by financial services companies, solving important problems for people who need it most.

The Role As the Group Director of Risk and Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring our compliance framework is fit for purpose, aligned to the business, and effectively highlights regulatory issues. You will foster a culture of compliance across the group with a focus on the voice of the consumer and good customer outcomes. You will also manage the group’s governance arrangements, ensuring effective governance controls can be put in place to meet regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements We are looking for a Director of Compliance with 12+ years of experience in financial services. You must have a deep understanding of FCA regulations including but not limited to ICOBS, PRIN, SUP, DISP and TC. You must have held SMF16 previously and have experience in compliance leadership roles. Experience in general insurance is a necessity, motor insurance preferable.

Benefits We offer flexible working, a competitive bonus scheme, a flexible benefits budget, mental wellbeing support, personal budgets for books and training courses, private health care, a medical cash plan, and a tech scheme. We also offer 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), a pension, a cycle-to-work scheme, and monthly team socials.

Application Details Our process is broken up into 3 stages: an initial call with our Talent Lead, a skill-based interview with our CFO and Legal Counsel, and a culture interview with our Co-CEO. We’ll let you know if you’re invited to an interview or not. But, as a small team with a lot of applications to consider, we can’t give personal feedback on each application.
