Role Summary
- Work within a product team to automate and manage tens of thousands of policies.
- Engage in technical scoping, estimation, and briefs to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with the product owner to understand and respond to customer needs.
- Develop, test, deploy, monitor, and support robust backend systems.
- Write automation tests and build continuous delivery pipelines.
Role Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Java 8+ & Spring.
- Experience with microservices in a commercial setting.
- Understanding of AWS and experience with Terraform.
- Self-motivated, organized, and a reliable team player.

The Role As a Backend Engineer, you will be working in a product team enabling efficient automation for tens of thousands of policies, ensuring that we provide customers with affordable, instant, and inclusive insurance. You will participate in technical scoping, estimation and briefs, work closely with the team’s product owner to understand requirements, build solutions, deliver functionality, write automation tests and build continuous delivery pipelines all the way through to deployment, monitoring and supporting these systems in production.
Job Requirements We are looking for someone with 2+ years hands-on experience with Java 8+ & Spring, commercial experience with microservices, commercial awareness of AWS, commercial experience with Terraform. You are a self-starter who likes to take ownership and you are organised and can be relied upon to get things done.
