The organisation - Common Seas We are an international social enterprise designing and delivering upstream solutions to tackle the source of the plastics problem. We champion Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to enable their decision-makers to set baselines, design policy and act on plastic, and advocate for a UN Plastic Treaty that works for them. Our approach and tools have received widespread recognition and provided Governments with the evidence and courage to deliver ambitious action on plastic.

The role - Technical Lead, Plastic Solutions You will be responsible for directing the development and application of Common Seas’ plastic footprinting and strategy building models: Plastic Drawdown and PlasTICK. You will manage and produce the quantitative and qualitative data acquisition and populate models delivering national baseline data and policy analysis, predominately for Small Island Developing States. You will also develop working relationships with specialists and decision makers in the countries where we work to build data, knowledge and develop and deliver solutions.

Job requirements You should have more than 5 years of relevant professional experience and a relevant degree. Experience in using waste models and conducting material flow analysis applied to waste management is essential. You should also have experience in research combining quantitative and qualitative methods, including stakeholder consultation, technical leadership, managing a team and external relationships, and using data and analysis to coach and inform policy dialogue.
