Role Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum six months' experience in consultancy or development, ideally in core practice areas.
  • Proven initiative, client-focus, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fluency in English, with additional languages beneficial.
  • UK work eligibility is essential.

The Governance and Stability team manages projects focused on improving national and local governance, centre of government and public finance management, security and justice, stabilisation and conflict and education. We work in Africa, the MENA region, Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America.

The Professional Development Scheme is a 12-month programme that offers you the opportunity to perform different project management and business development responsibilities across our different service lines and gives you the knowledge and skills to kick-start a career in international development.

As an Assistant Manager, we will support and prepare you on the following: Development of impact-driven technical and financial proposals for leading development partners. Understanding local delivery contexts and political economies. Managing complex delivery tasks and project risks.

Key responsibilities include: Project Management & Delivery, Business Development, Thought Leadership and Corporate Initiatives.

Job requirements include an undergraduate degree in economics, political science, international development, business management, or other relevant field from an internationally recognised university; A minimum of six month of work experience in a consultancy or development-focussed organisation, ideally working directly in one the Governance & Stability Team’s core practice areas; Demonstrated experience of using initiative, client-orientation, risk taking, and working in complex and time-pressured contexts; Enthusiasm, flexibility and a strong attention to detail; Excellent communication, inter-personal, and team-working skills; Strong grasp of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint; Outstanding written and spoken English. An additional language (e.g. French, Spanish, Arabic) would be an major asset; You must be eligible to work in the UK.
