What will you be doing?
The Running Charity is seeking a dedicated and skilled volunteer to take on the role of Videographer/Photographer. This volunteer opportunity involves capturing the essence and activities of the charity, including group sessions, one-to-one personal training sessions, events, and their general work with young people. As a Videographer/Photographer for The Running Charity, your responsibilities will include:
Visual Storytelling: You'll be tasked with visually capturing the impact of the charity's work. This involves taking both photographs and videos that tell the story of the young people's journey within the charity, highlighting their achievements and the charity's role in their lives.
Event Coverage: The charity organises and participates in various events. Your role will be to document these events, ensuring that the charity's involvement and the participation of the young people are well represented in your visual work.
Session Documentation: Regular group sessions and personal training sessions are core activities of the charity. Capturing these sessions in action will be a key part of your role, showcasing the engagement of the young people and the supportive environment provided by the charity.
Editing and Production: Beyond capturing footage and images, you will also be responsible for editing and producing content that can be used for the charity's promotional and informational materials. This could include social media content, fundraising materials, and awareness campaigns.
Collaboration and Flexibility: Working closely with the charity's team and the young people, you will need to be adaptable, sensitive to the needs of our young people, and able to capture the essence of the charity's work in a respectful and empowering manner.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about using their creative skills to make a difference, has a good eye for detail, and can produce compelling visual narratives. It is also an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause, helping to raise awareness and support for young people experiencing homelessness.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual with an eye for detail and capturing dynamic images.
Familiar with manual photographic and filming techniques that best capture running and physical activity Have access to a digital SLR or high-spec camera. Volunteers must provide their own equipment. Camera able to shoot in RAW or TIFF file formats High degree of proficiency with a camera. We would ask candidates to provide samples of their work. The Charity has access to Adobe Creative Cloud
The volunteer should also have/be
Creative mind Understanding of social media and communications Good time-management and organisational skills Good personal relations skills Dynamic and adaptable Accuracy and attention to detail Understands the resource constraints of a small charity and is able to work with these. Open to feedback Planning and scheduling The ability to communicate and network effectively.
