What will you be doing?

We are seeking two new Trustees to help us continue our work of enhancing, empowering, and strengthening rural communities in Berkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the friendly and welcoming team at CCB as we enter a period of growth with new exciting projects to help support our rural communities. In particular, we are seeking an individual who is a great communicator and will use opportunities to network and make connections with people to help spread the word about what our charity does and how it can help support those living and working in Berkshire's rural communities.  Our vision is for all communities in Berkshire to be strong, resilient, sustainable, and able to control their futures. Our purpose is to inspire action at a community level that improves people’s quality of life. If you feel at ease and enjoy talking to people this could be the role for you. If you also have previous experience working with or on a parish or town council then we would also love to hear from you. Town and parish councils are an essential part of the structure of local democracy and have a vital role in ensuring their community is well-represented and vibrant.

What are we looking for?

A confident networker who will bring relevant connections and facilitate introductions for the benefit the charity. Experience of charity governance and/or trusteeship Experience in fundraising or completing funding applications A passion and/or experience of living in a rural community and both the opportunities and the challenges that this can bring.

What difference will you make?

Your skills and experience will be used to make a lasting difference in our local communities. If you have more time to dedicate, then this could be the perfect role for you as we are a small team and rely on volunteer support to help complete key task and finish jobs. Alternatively, if you have a busy working life then there are only a handful of, mostly evening, meetings to attend a year in which you could attend while sharing your expertise, providing guidance, and helping to make important decisions. We have over 50 years of experience and history in community development work and are an active member of the Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) Network. We offer a great induction package to the charity which includes mentoring from current Trustees. We’re a really friendly bunch and will ensure a warm welcome to anyone interested.
