  • Ownership and management of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with month-end financial tasks.
  • Support the annual audit process and contribute to automating and scaling financial processes.
  • Strong academic background in finance or a related field.
  • Experience with Accounting Software, preferably Xero, and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in the tech/startup ecosystem.
  • Current UK residency.

Opportunity:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to gain experience within the finance function of a dynamic business. You will join the finance team at Founders Forum Group, and report into the Finance Manager, supporting the team to enable the company to operate and grow efficiently.

Founded in 2005, our invite-only forums unite founders, investors, corporate and government leaders to tackle era-defining questions in iconic locations across the globe. Since 2019, Founders Forum has partnered with Informa Tech to celebrate the strength and diversity of UK tech through London Tech Week

In 2023, Founders Forum acquired Tech Nation. The transfer will see FF Group continue to execute against Tech Nation's mission to empower tech entrepreneurs, scale innovative startups, and provide a united platform for UK tech founders.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of accounts receivable: raising invoices and debt chasing
  • Ownership of accounts payable: processing, posting and coding invoices and payment runs
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with month end tasks including prepayments, accruals and deferred income
  • Assist with annual audit and associated schedules
  • Ad hoc projects to scale and automate processes

Requirements

  • Strong academic background.
  • Prior experience with Accounting Software (preferably Xero).
  • You have advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • You're great at building relationships with other stakeholders across the organisation.
  • A self-starter with exceptional attention to detail, who’s good at problem solving.
  • You have some knowledge of the tech and/or startup marketplace and are intrigued to know more. 
  • You are based in the UK.

We have a hybrid working model with 4 days spent in the office and 1 day with the option to work remotely/from home.
