The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation dedicated to improving health by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships. We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and tackling three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health. Our new strategy emphasizes that advances in health often come from unexpected sources, and that curiosity-driven discovery research is vital.

The role: As a Funding Manager in the Humanities and Social Sciences team, you will manage a portfolio of grants across their full lifecycle. This includes carrying out due diligence, coordinating expert reviews and funding advisory committees, providing clear written feedback, making awards, and responding to queries. This role ensures that applications are handled fairly, efficiently, and on time. You will also act as a trusted advisor, offering guidance on funding policies and best practices.

Job requirements: Candidates should have experience in the research environment, a strong understanding of research funding mechanisms, and be educated to at least degree level in a relevant field. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage large workloads, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Benefits: Wellcome offers a hybrid way of working, with three days in our Euston Road offices and two days working remotely. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a fair and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We offer excellent benefits and support for professional development.
